Amedeo Challenge will

• collect 1,000,000 €,
• create 50 awards of 20,000 € each, and
• find the physicians who will write and publish free medical textbooks.

The Amedeo Awards will be funded by donations and exclusive sponsorships.

A total of 62,500 Euro has already been allocated for two textbooks on Tuberculosis and Viral Hepatitis and a third award which will be disclosed soon. We invite medical teams from all over the world to participate in one of the contests. The first three groups will win 80 %, 16 %, and 4 % of the corresponding award, respectively (see Rules and Conditions). In addition, all textbooks will achieve global attention as we will announce them via the following communication channels:

• Homepage of Free Medical Journals (>11,000 visitors/day)
• Homepage of FreeBooks4Doctors (>4,000 visitors/day)
• Citation in Free Medical Information (>140,000 downloads in 10 months)
• Recommendation in the weekly Amedeo Newsletters (>128,000 subscribers)

A detailed description of how physicians can proceed to write and publish their own textbooks has recently been published in Free Medical Information.
